[Salon] Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah threatens to upend a U.S.-Iran peace agreement.

From the Wall Street Journal, a deliberately misleading headline and description that is typical of mainstream media biases.  The only reason there is fighting in Lebanon is that Israel and the United States launched an unprovoked attack on Iran, Hezbollah reacted, and Israel has invaded it and sought to depopulate and demolish it as it has Gaza.  This was preceded by Israeli attacks on Hezbollah that decimated its leadership echelon and a ceasefire in which Israel, as in Gaza, did not cease fire.  The problem is not Lebanon or Hezbollah, which came into being to resist Israeli aggression and occupation in Lebanon.  It is Israel and its effort to ethnically cleanse the Levant and subjugate all in West Asia.

Vice President JD Vance is in Switzerland for talks with Iran that the U.S. had hoped would center on Tehran’s nuclear program. Instead they have been diverted to focusing on a flare-up of violence in Lebanon that prompted Iran to say it was closing the Strait of Hormuz. While Vance was upbeat after his initial round of talks today, President Trump took to social media to lash out at Iran, threatening to strike it again if it doesn’t rein in Hezbollah.
